Good to know
A few helpful details before you join the Maple Ridge Cold Plunge community at the water.
Our regular Saturday season runs January through May at Davidson's Pool South in Maple Ridge. We stay away from rivers during spawning season. In 2027, we return on January 9. Arrive around 9:30 AM; the plunge begins at 10:00 AM and we usually wrap up by 10:30 AM. Check the calendar for special events, including our January 1 Polar Bear Plunge at Hayward Lake.
Bring warm layers, a towel, and a bath mat. A warm jacket, long coat, or warm robe is a favourite for getting comfortable afterward. Coffee, hot chocolate, the fire, and good company are waiting for you.
Not at all. Join at your own pace. You are welcome to watch, cheer on the group, meet the community, and decide if or when a plunge feels right for you.
The water ranges from about 1°C to 13°C, depending on the time of year. It is cold throughout our season, so enter slowly and give yourself time to settle your breathing.
Some members in our group stay in for a minute, while other more experienced members stay in for up to 20 minutes. Do whatever feels right for you, and if you’re just starting out, little bits at a time are great.
Dry off and change out of wet clothing promptly, then put on dry, warm layers. Bring a warm jacket or long coat; some members love a warm robe. We have hot coffee and a welcoming fire to gather around while you warm up gradually and enjoy the company.
Rain, shine, or snow, baby! We meet in all three during our January–May season. Check our Facebook group for the latest updates before heading out. Meeting up does not mean you have to get in—stay out of the water if conditions are unsafe.
We’ll be adding two pop-up changing rooms this season. Bring a bath mat to stand on while you change into dry clothes.
Overflow parking is available at the corner of 128 Avenue and 128 Crescent. Look for the RED OVERFLOW PARKING sign, or head down to the lot and ask one of our great members to point you in the right direction!
Timo brings his custom luxury sauna on the last Saturday of each month during our January–May season. Sauna access is $20, with $5 from every admission supporting Cythera House and its work with local women and children.
We welcome financial sponsorships, products, prizes, refreshments, equipment, services, and event support. Use the partnership form above to tell us about your business and your idea, and we will be in touch.
